New Years Eve 2005; Me, Linda, and Jim (12/31/05)
I spent New Years Eve 2005 in Madison with my friends Jim and Linda. We started the day off at a cool brew pub, then ventured out to see King Kong (my second time, their first --- and they both loved it!). Jim and Linda are both real easy-going, so the night was up for grabs. We ended up going down State Street, hung out at a bar that my cousin works at, and then around 10:00 headed out to the Capitol Square to watch fireworks. This was my first NYE to ever actually watch fireworks. It was ice-cold there on the square surrounded by both lakes that give Madison its beauty, but it was an incredible way to ring in the new year, with the capitol as an amazing backdrop to watch fireworks by. After fireworks, we headed back to their house so Linda (our D.D.) could drink along with us. I rang 2006 in with a belly full of 3 or 4 chocolate martinis and a victory on my Star Wars Trivial Pursuit DVD Edition. It was a great night! |
