Celebration (After The Rehearsal) (9/24/04)
This is the second of two shots (although I recall doing more than two shots that night!) from my friends Jim and Linda's wedding. Both shots are tabletop shots, playing with night photography. They both also happen to be about celebrations and heavy drinking, but are amazingly different in their subject matter and level of sophistication! This was taken at an old bar in Madison, WI after the rehearsal dinner. At this point of the night, I reconnected with some friends that I hadn't seen in over five years. It was great. As the dark beer flowed to the early morning (until bar closing, 2:30 AM!), the discussions turned to politics, just weeks before the Kerry/Bush election. For me, it was great being in this liberal city again, which embraces so many of my beliefs. It was heart warming to me that the I was having conversations with friends I hadn't seen in such a long time, as if no time had passed at all. There we were again, fixing the world's problems over bar light and dark beer. There were so many wonderful memories from Jim and Linda's wedding (and Jim's bachelor party) that I will never forget. |
