Fleeting (8/25/04)
Another shot of my late August fall series. There's a bittersweetness
associated with leaves like this. The deep reds and rich oranges
always give me a sense of fleeting despite their incredible beauty.
I know their time, their beauty, is extremely limited. I love
fall. It's visually, by far, my favorite season. But I always
have a sense of defeat when summer is over. Having taken this
picture in late August, despite the intense beauty, also gives
me a feeling of dread in my belly. |
