An
Empty Union
(8/12/04)
This photo is of the Memorial Union at UW-Madison. This historic
building is the living room of the campus. It's one of my favorite
places on earth. It's a rare occasion that I see this Union empty,
as it is that I'm at the Union at 10:00 in the morning on a week
day. I was in Madison for a few short hours to abduct my friend
Jim for his bachelor party. Part of the abduction had us dress
Jim, the bed-wetting liberal, as a right wing activist. His garb
included a blue blazer, red power tie, many Bush/Cheney '04 stickers,
an American flag, and a paper bag mask of ol' G.W. himself. We
also outfitted Jim with a sign that said "One Bush, One
Dick, The Way God Intended." We then took Jim around the
campus, the very liberal campus, I might add, and took
photos of him in his right wing gear at different landmarks of
the university. The Union was one of our first stops. I snapped
this shot on my way through to the bathroom! I'll never forget
that bachelor party or the looks that people gave us as we cruised
the streets of Madison! |
