Anakin (8/29/04)
This is my cat, Anakin. Many times I call him Ani for short or
Little Baby (yeah, it's quite silly). He's always been a challenge
to photograph with his dark features. But on this Sunday morning,
as he was enjoying his time in the sun, I saw those big gold
eyes staring at me, making me realized that this is how I usually
see him. I'm a big Star Wars geek, hence his name. In my mind,
the fact that he was all black was enough to tie his appearance
in with Darth Vader and Anakin Skywalker. In this picture, though,
he reminds me of one of those drunk little Jawas who hang outside
of that Cantina Bar. If it wasn't so ordinary, I would have called
him Shadow, because that's what he looks like and that's how
he acts. I've tripped over him more time than I can count, especially
in a darkened room and with my glasses off. I love how the sun
catches his fuzzy whiskers and ear hair. Anakin's a pretty cool
cat. Extremely friendly and loves to play. The moment after I
shot this picture, he pounced at me or my camera, and then took
off! |
