Peace...To Infinity And Beyond (6/03)
This is the last of my photos from the Botanical Gardens. This was a really cool sculture in a garden that we came across on a short walk. The piece is in the shape of infinity, the phrase is continuous, and makes sense wherever you read it from (I forget what it all says though...). I love how the sculpure is made entire out of mirrored surfaces, so it almost has an invisible quality to it. I like how the script his cut out of the metal, instead of being printed on it. My favorite parts of this photograph are shadow of the infinity symbol on the grass, and the way the word "peace" is highlighted in the foreground. After the world events of this past year, it's good to hear somebody still talking about peace. An impressive sculpture to walk around and experience!
