Breckinridge,
Colorado
(8/92)
Shot in late August of 1992 in Breckinridge, Colorado, on my
second of three visits during college. My roommate and best friend
in college, Chip, and his family had a condo out there. This
shot was after a surprise blizzard (at the end of August!), taken
from the balcony of my room as the sun was setting. My trips
to Colorado back then are still some of the most breath-taking,
awe-inspiring scenery I've ever seen. The only thing that comes
close is my trip to Ireland last summer. Out in the mountains,
I always felt incredibly in touch with nature. We went for many
hikes on those trips, and at the top of a mountain, you actually
do feel like you're on top of the world. Up that high, it was
weird, because part of me always felt very small and my problems
always seemed insignificant compared to the majesty that was
in front of me, but another part of me felt larger than life,
looking at complete towns from that high up. Definitely an experience
that everybody should have.
